The DOOLAN-LARSON LOVEHOUSE will be a
magnet for local and international visitors with a myriad of intimate functions that embrace the
HISTORY
of the site,
CULTURE of the
community,
and
ENTERTAINMENT of the future.
Set at the epicenter of the
60’s Counter-culture movement at the intersection of HAIGHT AND
ASHBURY streets in SAN FRANCISCO, LOVEHOUSE is a vibrant
expression of the PEACEFUL AND FREE-SPIRITED mindset of
the FLOWER CHILDREN.
Architecturally, the LOVEHOUSE is activated
with Dichroic glass film
(a simple, protective, and economical solution) that creates a lens through which light
and view are prismatically
altered to recreate that mindset for unique past & new experiences
that will continue to change and evolve.
Programming includes:
Intimate Live Music events by San Francisco impresario KC Turner,
A permanent home for “The Future of the Past” photography project by Bill Delzell’s SpeakLocal.org that will eventually feature over 5000 photographs shot between 1966 and 1970 in the Haight and Bay Area by an still to be identified photographer along with rotating exhibits,
Mark Nassar’s immersive play “A Night in the Haight” that incorporates Haight-Ashbury historical figures,
and a storefront home for hyper local, community-rooted Haight Street Voice Radio curated by Linda Kelly.
